Summer Vacation: Day 2
Hi again. I know I've been super lazy in writing down what I did yesterday and what all places me and my uncle visited. It's partly because I was too full from all the food that I've been eating and partly because I've spent all morning watching movies and talking to friends back home. Today is a special day because its my parents' 26th wedding anniversary. HAPPY WEDDING DAY mom and dad! :*Now back to what I did yesterday. I got up pretty late yesterday. Sometime around the 9.30 to 10AM mark. As soon as I woke up, my uncle made my fresh french pressed coffee *slurp slurp* As soon as I was done with that, my aunt (after asking me the previous night about what food I loved), made me delicious upma, idly(which by the way tastes exactly the way my mom makes it) and my most favoritest coconut chutney. I gulped down all the food and off we went, me my uncle and his kid to go see the San Francisco bridge. On the way, my uncle asked me if I wanted to go see the Stanford Campus. It was like a dream come true for me. Driving down the road leading to the main building on campus was pure bliss. I was simply amazed by everything and anything that I saw. Dang I so wished that I had studied a little bit harder back then. But I'm glad I am an Aggie now. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be. The view of the entire campus from the Hoover tower was simply astounding (and scary because of the height) :DOnce we were done with going around campus and it was time to leave (even though I didn't want to :( ), we were off to our next stop - the Golden Gate bridge. But you know kids right? They get hungry so easily. Even before we knew it, we were at this wonderful Indo-Pak restaurant in downtown San Francisco called the 'Shalimar' munching away on their novelty tandoor roti, aloo parathas, aloo palak and butter chicken.Having fed the tummy, we finally headed out to the bridge. Both Sarathi and I were complaining about how hot it was and even before we could complete our sentence, there was a rush of cold air that struck our face. That's when we realized that we had reached the bridge. There was a stark contrast in temperature and climate between the bridge and the rest of San Francisco. I can bet that there was atleast a 15 degree difference in temperature. Thank god we brought our jackets. One look at the bridge and you could swear that somebody had so artistically hidden the bridge from plain sight. Everything was hidden in fog and mist beyond a 100 meters. It was so picture perfect and made some really nice clicks for a postcard. Haha :D
Finally it was time for us to get back home (again, I didn't want to go home so soon). Then later at night, after having another sumptuous dinner (dosas, sambar and chutney), me and my uncle left to Starbucks to meet some of dad's friends. I might have probably seen them when I was a kid or was meeting them only now for the first time. But it was kind of fun talking to them. Well there you go.. thats pretty much all that I did yesterday. A whole new day today. A whole new range of experiences. A whole new blog entry tomorrow. Till then, take care!
