Me, Myself and Anna University
OK. By now you should have shortlisted your universities and probably even have your essay ready. What next? There is this thing called profile evaluation. While filing the application form, you would be asked to list out your undergraduate level grades. Even though you enter your grades correctly, the university u apply to expects some official form of evidence to support your claim. This is where the concept of transcripts comes into the picture. I am pretty sure most of you know about this. So this is for those few who are probably hearing this word for the first time :)
It’s pretty simple, this whole concept of transcripts. What the university basically expects is a hard copy of your mark sheets mailed to them just to ensure that u are not building up stuff about your grades and achievements.
I’ll try to help u guys with the little I know about this process. Since I graduated from Anna University, I might be able to help u folks go about getting transcripts from Anna University. Before we can actually go to the transcript application process, there is one important thing that u need to do. Most of the universities don’t ask for the transcripts unless they offer u an admit. But there are a few other universities that ask for the transcripts just so that they can begin evaluating your profile. To add to this, there are some universities that ask u to submit 2 transcripts – one for the university and one for the department that u are applying to.
To make sure of the requirements of each university, go check their program first and find out if they need the transcripts before reviewing ur profile or after. This will save u a lot of money if in case they don’t select u. Now coming to the application procedure, its entirely different for students who have studied in Anna University and those from colleges affiliated to Anna University. I’ll write out the procedures for both.
List of Documents Required
For Students studying in / graduated from Anna University

It is better to take the DD near your residence itself as there are no banks near the transcript application office. I guess I have outlined almost everything that one must need to do to apply for their transcripts. If you need any other information, then the link for that is
Where is the Transcript Application Office?
