Love What you have!! Don't Just live with it!! :):):)

A few weeks ago, I had to go to the railway station to drop my family off. The A/C in the car wasn’t working and I was finding it very difficult to drive. There wasn’t a single moment in the journey that I didn’t complain about it. We had reached the station a bit earlier than expected and had to wait for our train for some time. While we were waiting, another train pulled up into the station and then what happened there stunned me.
Every train has a section known as “Unreserved” right? This train too had a similar compartment. I guess the compartment could seat around 75 odd people. But actually around 300 people were standing in a queue outside the compartment. What was even more surprising was that, none of those people there, not ONE person among the 200 had even the faintest look of worry or doubt as to whether they would get themselves and their family a place to sit.
Everyone there was in the same situation and yet, they were all behaving quite normally. I imagined myself in a similar situation. I would have definitely freaked out like hell. Then, I asked myself. What is the difference between those people and me? How is it that they look at it as if it’s a situation they face every other day but I frown even at the thought of myself in that position?
The answer to it was so simple and staring at me right in the face. Even though they were the very same human being that I was, even though they had faced many more hardships than I have or would ever have, the only difference was that, starting from a very small age, I had gotten everything I wanted so easily that I didn’t understand the efforts that went into getting what I wanted. All I had to do was just ask for it and I would get it. I am sure most of here are like that. Pampered and spoilt.
We crib about even the smallest things or troubles we face in our day to day life. What will happen to us when we face a REAL problem? Think if it… Because we get things easily, we never even give the slightest pause to think what our plight would be IF we don’t have things as simple as we do now. Just the thought is disturbing right?
I am not saying that, you know, we should face the hardships other people face to really enjoy the fruit of what we get. All that we have to do is, rather than cribbing and complaining about the things we don’t have, we should feel satisfied with what we’ve been gifted. Because, in the end, what we want isn’t always the best thing for us.

In case we want something and it happens, that’s well and good, BUT, if it doesn’t happen or turn out the way we want it to, then take it in your stride because, it has happened for a GREATER good. Keep saying thanks to the almighty for each and every second he has given you. That is sure to make the next second of your life even more beautiful than the previous one.

With Love Always,

Karthik :)
