Summer Vacation: Day 8

Today is my last day in California and I cannot believe that the same time tomorrow, I'll be back in Texas. On one hand I am really happy that I'm going back home but on the other hand, I like it so much here that I don't want to go either. It's as if I want the best of both worlds but don't know what to do. My flight back home is in 8 hours! :oDid I tell you guys? The elder kid made me watch a scary movie the night before last night. The entire family sat together wrapped under blankets and watched 'The Ring'. Apparently, the movie wasn't scary at all for the kid but I was shit scared. I was covering my ears and eyes every now and then with the pillow to make sure I did not see the gore in front of me nor the ominous sound effects that came up every now and then :P Once I had 'successfully' conquered the movie, it was time to sleep and thankfully, I did not have any bad dreams or anything . Phew.Yesterday was Saturday and the whole family was here for most parts of the day.  We spent the entire morning cleaning the smaller kids room because it was such a mess with all the books scattered everywhere. That was some good time spent with my aunt and the elder kid. Non stop talking, laughing, singing and of course, cleaning the room too haha. It was really sweet of my aunt to prepare  separate vegetarian lunch for me because they were making fish curry for the family. All these small small things make me feel so welcome and so loved :)The food was so awesome that we ended up dozing off into a slumber right after. By the time we all woke up, it was almost sunset. I was supposed to meet Divi in an hour and I rushed and got ready. I have always been wanting to go to a temple ever since I got here last weekend and we finally went last night. Divya, her mom and I went to this Laxmi temple. It was even more awesome because we got free prasadham as well. That was the highlight of the trip and the evening. My trip to California suddenly felt complete :DIMG_5066Then , we went to this rose garden and even though it was summer, there were lots of roses of different colors and it was such a beautiful sight. The place reminded me of mom's garden back home where she had the most beautiful rose and jasmine plants. As with all fun times, this evening also had to come to an end and it was time for use to return back home. Thanks Divi and Bharathi aunty for the beautiful 3 days y'all gave me. :)Well, I'm off to packing my stuff now. Gotta get ready for the evening. Time does fly fast. But I am glad I came here for the break. I needed this. I'll be back tomorrow with my last entry about the summer break. Till then, take care!Gig'Em!
